Laughter is wonderful at every age. It provides a gentle physical workout, exercises the lungs and heart, helps muscles relax and reduces pain. Laughing with others builds bridges and connections, increases confidence, hope and positivity.

Our laughter workshops are designed to be suitable for people of all ages and all levels of mobility. They include low-impact physical movements (which can be entirely chair-based), breathwork, playing with laughter sounds, singing, reminiscence and gentle group sensory games. Workshops are gentle, inclusive and enjoyable - with lasting effects - and can be entirely chair-based. Please get in touch to find out more!


Leela has run these workshops for organisations such as Age UK, Parkinson's UK, Open Age, Jewish Care, Heart of Kent Hospice and Viridian Housing in settings including residential care homes, daycare centres and social groups.


Laughter yoga for people with dementia


Leela has enjoyed running many workshops with people with dementia, including those with advanced dementia. These workshops are tailored specifically for people with dementia and include lots of music, reminiscence and soundscapes, simple and inclusive sensory games, laughing-together exercises and being playful. Participants can join in as much as they are happy to. Carers have frequently commented on the positive effects in their clients following a laughter workshop.
